    All-Night Vigil

    9.00pm
    St John's College Chapel, Cambridge

For our third concert (and what we might have thought was our last at the time!), we turned to one of the most demanding works for unaccompanied choir ever written. Having performed some russian orthodox church music for the first time in the previous concert, it was a natural progression for us to tackle Rachmaninov’s All-Night Vigil, to feature wonderful soloists Helena Cooke and Michael Bell as well as of course our fine low-bass section. This body of repertoire remains at the forefront of our identity as a choir, and we look forward to our interpretation of this work developing over future years.
