Seven Last Words From The Cross

This concert lives long in the memory for us. It was the first time we performed choir favourites Bring us, O Lord God by William Harris and Nikolai Golovanov’s devastating setting of the Lord’s Prayer. We also gave the world premiere of April by Piers Connor Kennedy, written specifically for this concert and which used the String Ensemble who were on hand for the main event to come. Sir James MacMillan’s Seven Last Words From The Cross is his early masterpiece, and we will be sure to perform it again in the future. We were joined by wonderful friends from Cambridge who came to play the fiendishly difficult string parts.
